[ARCHIVED] Snoqualmie K9 Unit Assists in Regional Drug Distribution Arrests

As reported by the U.S. Attorney’s Office Western District, 21 people were arrested on April 7, 2021 on indictments charging an extensive drug dealing conspiracy by defendants who often illegally possessed firearms.

The 21 arrests and 90 searches were located across the Puget Sound region from as far north as Everett and as far south as Spanaway.

Law enforcement teams from the FBI, DEA, and 27 other agencies – including the Snoqualmie Police Department K9 Unit – assisted in the arrests and seizures of more than 73 firearms, over 10 kilos of cocaine, more than 2 pounds of methamphetamine, approximately $610,000 in cash, fentanyl pills, and a fentanyl pill manufacturing lab.

“Snoqualmie Police Officer Fischbeck and K9 Pooch have been doing an extraordinary job both in the Snoqualmie Valley and collaborating with our partner agencies,” stated Snoqualmie Police Captain Nick Almquist.

“Drug trafficking and violence are often intertwined, leaving communities and families devastated,” stated DEA Special Agent in Charge Frank Tarentino. “This strategic collaborative approach between federal and local law enforcement demonstrates our commitment to not only serve, but also to protect the public from these violent criminal networks who terrorize their neighborhoods.”
