The City of Snoqualmie will hold a public hearing to collect feedback on proposed changes to 2025-2030 utility rates at the March 24, 2025, City Council Meeting at 7pm.
The City of Snoqualmie provides water, sewer, and stormwater utility services to city and non-city customers. Per Washington State law, utility rates must cover the operations and capital improvements of the associated utilities. As such, the City regularly conducts reviews of utility rates to ensure those rates match the revenues required to operate the combined utility.
The most recent rate study considered needed utility capital improvement projects, as well as the impacts of inflationary levels and rate class usage on the water, sewer, and stormwater utilities.
The proposed increase to the average residential monthly bill is approximately 3% - 7% annually. The proposed multifamily increase is approximately 1% - 2% annually.
If the City Council approves the proposed changes, it is anticipated the new rates will go into effect in May 2025. The City will continue its longstanding reduced rate program for customers who meet income requirements.
Verbal public comments about the proposed utility rate changes can be made in-person during the March 24 public hearing. Written comments can be submitted until 5pm on March 24, 2025. Mail written comments to Dylan Gamble, CIP Manager, PO Box 987 Snoqualmie, WA 98065 or email comments to dgamble@snoqualmiewa.gov
