On Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, construction launched on the first section of the long-planned Rivertrail project in the downtown area.
The first phase of the project – called Rivertrail Northwest (NW) of Sandy Cove — will create one-mile of soft surface trails between Kimball Creek and approximately Northern Street and includes restoration of the river shoreline and preparation work for future trail connections in subsequent project phases.
The project was formerly known as the Riverwalk project and is a multi-phase project that will remove flood-prone properties from the Snoqualmie riverfront and develop a three-mile loop trail while also restoring riparian habitat. When complete, the trail will connect areas near Snoqualmie Falls to historic downtown Snoqualmie and to the Meadowbrook area.
The majority of work on Rivertrail Northwest (NW) of Sandy Cove is expected to be complete, with the new trail section open, by summer 2026.
