At the June 24, 2024, City Council meeting, Snoqualmie Fire Chief Mike Baily introduced the department’s new Deputy Fire Chief, Chris Brown, to the community and elected officials. In fire service tradition, Mayor Ross presented Deputy Chief Brown with his new helmet and his wife pinned his new badge.
Deputy Chief Brown comes to the Snoqualmie Fire Department with over two decades of firefighting experience, including 20 years as a firefighter with the United States Air Force where he served in departments in Alaska, Florida, Honduras, and England. He finished his career with the Air Force as a Deputy Chief.
For the past two years, Deputy Fire Chief Brown has worked at the Washington State Fire Training Academy as the Chief of Training. He and his family are Snoqualmie Valley residents.
“I think Chris is going to bring some great things, and bring some great energy, to the department,” said Chief Bailey during the introduction. “I'm looking forward to him working side by side with me in the fire department.”
“It’s an honor and privilege to serve as the next deputy chief of the Snoqualmie Fire Department,” said Brown as he addressed the City Council and Mayor. “I’m excited to bring all of my experience and knowledge, and everything I have in my toolbelt, to the department after 20 years in the Air Force and a few years at the Academy.”
Deputy Chief Brown begins his position with the Snoqualmie Fire Department on July 1, 2024.
