City Council Appoints Cara Christensen as New Council Member

Snoqualmie, WA – The Snoqualmie City Council appointed Cara Christensen for Council Position 6 at the City Council meeting on September 27. Mayor Matt Larson administered the Oath of Office, after which Council Member Christensen took her seat immediately. City Council Member Position 6 opened following Council Member Sean Sundwall’s resignation effective August 30.

Council Member Christensen has lived in Snoqualmie since 2014. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Puget Sound along with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. She has worked as an attorney for law firms in Irvine, California and in Seattle.

Having served on the City of Snoqualmie Planning Commission from 2015-2017, Council Member Christensen returned to the commission in 2020 following a move to London. She has also participated in the Timber Ridge PTA, the ROA P-Patch Garden Plot, and Snoqualmie Valley Youth Soccer.

On her application for the City Council, Christensen’s top three priorities included the lingering effects of COVID-19 on businesses, affordable housing, and working to maintain a high quality of life for Snoqualmie residents.

The term of this position will expire after the results of the November 2023 general election are certified.
