Community Contributes to Bloodworks’ Donation Success in 2021

News & Announcements Posted on January 13, 2022

Sign up online for upcoming blood drives at Snoqualmie City Hall.

Snoqualmie, WA – During the pandemic, Bloodworks Northwest has turned to onsite donation centers in communities like Snoqualmie to ensure a healthy blood supply. Residents stepped up and made generous donations to the Snoqualmie pop-up donation center in 2021. Here are some of the ways donations in Snoqualmie made an impact:

  • 22 days of pop-up blood drives
  • 1,119 donors signed up
  • 1,004 donors registered
  • 716 donors brought back
  • 51 first-time donors

“The City of Snoqualmie has made a tremendously positive impact in terms of blood donation,” said Bloodworks Community Engagement Liaison Rochelle Toro. “Thanks to the donors and city staff who make these contributions possible.”

Bloodworks Needs Blood Donations

The Puget Sound region is currently in a Code Red situation, meaning 7 out of 8 blood types have less than a day’s inventory on the shelf. Bloodworks Northwest is working closely with hospitals and doctors to conserve the blood supply as much as possible.

Upcoming Pop-Up Donation Centers in Snoqualmie

If you’d like to donate, an upcoming pop-up donation center at the Snoqualmie City Council Chambers takes place January 26 to February 2. Another pop-up donation center is scheduled for March 30-April 8. While Snoqualmie City Hall is temporarily closed due to the pandemic, the City Council Chambers will be open for the pop-up. If appointments are filled, Bloodworks offers a pop-up center in Bellevue February 25-26.

Make an appointment (required) online at bloodworksnw.org. You can also call Bloodworks at 1-800-398-7888 to find out if same-day appointments available. No drop-in donors or guests allowed. Masks are required and can be provided if needed. Information about giving blood during the COVID-19 pandemic is at bloodworksnw.org/coronavirus
