Located on the Boardwalk by the Snoqualmie Depot in Historic Downtown Snoqualmie

Snoqualmie, WA – A downtown kiosk display recently received two national awards for graphic design. The display, located along the boardwalk near the Snoqualmie Depot, consists of a historic and cultural overview of Snoqualmie and a downtown walking tour. The National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC) and the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) each honored the display with an Award of Excellence.

An NAGC judge commented, “Nicely laid out design, great graphics and good use of color.” A 3CMA judge noted “the posters bring the community’s history to life through the great use of a central downtown kiosk” and “[the walking tour] reflects charm and history while being new at the same time."

About the Displays

The historic display depicts the Snoqualmie River and its confluence of cultures, industries, and environment. The display includes information and photos to illustrate the town’s rich history, past to present. A walking tour gives visitors and residents a chance to explore downtown businesses and iconic landmarks through stories of early years in Snoqualmie.

Information and photos for the displays were provided by the Snoqualmie Tribe, the Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum, King County Landmarks and Heritage Commission, Savor Snoqualmie Valley, and the City of Snoqualmie. Funding for the kiosk displays, which were designed by artist Kat Marshello, was provided by a Port of Seattle grant.
