The City of Snoqualmie is currently seeking volunteers to fill vacancies on multiple commissions. These commissions are a great way to make a direct impact on your community, including increasing economic vibrancy, shaping future parks and events, and even making decisions that impact how the City grows.
Current Openings:
- Arts Commission: Calling all Arts Enthusiasts! The Arts Commission helps develop and support public programs for the arts, advises the city on permanent public art installations, and helps develop popular events like the Plein Air Paint Out and other art festivals. The commission is made up of seven members who must reside within the city. There are three open positions. Commission members serve two -year terms and meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 5:30 pm.
- Economic Development Commission: The Economic Development Commission works to identify diverse economic opportunities, recruit, and retain local businesses and foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and strategic partnerships, while supporting a vibrant tourism economy in balance with a healthy community and abundant natural resources. There is one open position. The commission is made up of seven members who must reside within the city or own/operate a business within the Snoqualmie business community. Commission members serve two-year terms. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 8:00 am.
- Parks & Events Commission: The Parks & Events Commission advises City Council regarding many aspects of city parks, recreational facilities, and programs. They also advise regarding conduct of any form of recreation or cultural activities held for the enjoyment and well-being of the public. There are three open positions. The commission is made up of five members who must reside within the city. Commission members serve two-year terms and meetings are held quarterly.
- Planning Commission: The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council, and on some issues, makes decisions on land use issues such as zoning. There is one open position. The commission is made up of seven members; five of whom must reside within the city limits. Commission members serve four-year terms. Meetings are currently held the first and third Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.
