In late July and early August, contractors working for the City of Snoqualmie will begin two important downtown infrastructure improvement projects that will restore two Kimball Creek bridges that support a section of Meadowbrook Way SE, and install a new sewer line and sidewalk on 384th Ave SE.
To accommodate this work, Meadowbrook Way SE, between Railroad Ave/SR 202 and the edge of the City limits, will be closed to traffic. The detour route will be clearly marked and utilizes Railroad Ave to Stone Quarry Road to SE North Bend Way. The project is expected to begin in late July and be completed by the end of 2024.
Additionally, one lane of 384th Ave SE will close as crews work to install a new sewer line on an approximate half-mile stretch of the roadway. One lane of 384th will remain open with flaggers controlling traffic. There will also be a detour route established. The sewer installation is expected to start in early August and last approximately 8 weeks. The project also includes a new sidewalk, and that part of the project will likely begin in spring 2025 due to groundwater concerns.
Drivers should plan ahead for potential delays in this downtown area. Work and project timelines are weather dependent.
Funding for both projects was included in the City’s 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan, with $62,000 of the Kimball Creek Bridges Restoration project funded by a contribution from the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe.
Due to groundwater concerns, these projects will be completed simultaneously. The City appreciates residents’ understanding and patience while these infrastructure improvements occur.
