New Snoqualmie Police Department Captain Sworn In

Oath of Office

On July 11, 2022, in front of a crowd of family, friends, and fellow officers, Brian W. Lynch was sworn in as the new Captain of the Snoqualmie Police Department.

Cpt. Lynch comes to Snoqualmie from the Black Diamond Police Department where he served as a sergeant. He brings with him 21 years of law enforcement experience, in both Enumclaw and Black Diamond Police Departments. Prior to starting his career in law enforcement, Cpt. Lynch worked in the emergency medical services field.

During his tenure in Black Diamond, Cpt. Lynch also served as the Commander of the Coalition of Small Police Agencies Major Crimes Task Force - to which the Snoqualmie Police Department belongs – overseeing 17 detectives.

“Brian has a servant’s heart,” said SPD Chief Perry Phipps. “He has a career of doing more than just writing tickets, which is what embodies our police department where we strive to help our community be better.”

Cpt. Lynch has a strong community service ethic, resulting in being honored twice as Officer of the Year; once as Civilian Servant of the Year; and once as DUI Officer of the Year. He established successful fundraisers to support residents in need and community programs, including Black Diamond’s Chief for the Day program.
