The Annual Kids’ Trout Derby will be on May 7 from daylight to 10 a.m. at the ponds behind the Snoqualmie Police Department, 34825 S.E. Douglas Street. The derby, an annual tradition, is back this year after a hiatus from the pandemic.
This rain-or-shine event for children ages 5 to 14 draws young participants for a morning of friendly competition and is hosted by the Mount Si Fish & Game Club to promote interest in the outdoors.
Kids should bring their own poles and gear. Donation of $1 for raffle prizes. Free coffee, donuts and hot chocolate will fortify parents and young anglers.
Competition Details
- Children ages 5-14 may compete
- Children under 5 may fish
- There is a limit of two fish
- Bring your own fishing tackle
- Nets are not allowed
- No dogs are allowed on site
Prizes will be awarded to winners in different categories.

Parking options include east of the Police Station at the building next to the Police Officer parking lot and across the street at Safeway by the gas pumps.
