At approximately 3 pm on January 26, 2024, Snoqualmie-North Bend Police Department officers responded to a Robbery In Progress at the Sno Falls Credit Union, located at 320 Mt. Si Blvd in North Bend, WA.
Responding officers were given a description of the suspect and told he had passed a note to the teller. A sergeant arrived at the scene within minutes and saw the suspect running from the credit union to a waiting vehicle, a black Kia sedan. When the sergeant attempted a traffic stop, the getaway vehicle fled onto westbound Interstate 90. A pursuit was initiated, and the driver of the suspect vehicle continued his flight from law enforcement.
The pursuit entered Bellevue and the driver of the suspect vehicle exited Interstate 90 at exit 11. After exiting the freeway, the suspect vehicle struck three victim vehicles. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and re-entered Interstate 90 Westbound. Near exit 8 on Mercer Island, the suspect vehicle was disabled after a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) was used. Two 15-year-old male suspects were taken into custody.
During the investigation, officers learned the suspect entered the credit union and passed a note to the teller stating he was armed with a gun and would kill everyone in the credit union and himself before police arrived. The suspect left with $10. The getaway vehicle had been stolen from a Maple Valley family earlier in the day.
Both suspects were booked into the King County Children and Family Justice Center in Seattle. One of the two suspects has a previous conviction for Robbery 2nd Degree.
