[ARCHIVED] SVT Buses Will Run throughout Governor’s Stay Home Order

Transportation Designated an Essential Service
SVT Buses Will Run throughout Governor’s Stay Home Order

North Bend, WA – To help Washington State fight the spread of the novel coronavirus and the COVID-19 illness it causes, Governor Jay Inslee issued a statewide order March 23 to residents, calling on them to stay home, stay safe.

The order requires residents to avoid all public gatherings and eliminate all non-essential exposure to the public, while designating several key industries as essential to day-to-day operations of the state and its residents.

Public transportation is among the essential services that are allowed to continue operating under this order, since many workers are unable to work from home and must travel to and from their job sites.

At this time Snoqualmie Valley Transportation, serving all of the communities of the Snoqualmie Valley and beyond, is continuing regular operations and hours, except where businesses at stops are closed. Since Snoqualmie Casino has closed to the public, the routes scheduled to stop at that location will avoid the casino’s main entrance, entering at the adjacent Crescent Market instead.

Most trip fares on SVT buses are a suggested $1 donation.

All SVT buses are thoroughly cleaned twice a day. People who are sick are asked not to travel, and all riders are asked to cover coughs and sneezes and to wash their hands frequently.
