Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson stopped by Twede’s Café in North Bend on September 18 to support King County Executive Dow Constantine’s announcement of a new Creative Economy Initiative and Executive Order prioritizing film production in King County.
Executive Constantine was serving “Cherry Pie & Black Coffee” made famous in the Twin Peaks television series and movie of the early ‘90s, both filmed in many Snoqualmie and North Bend locations.
As stated in a news release from the Executive’s office, this budget request encourages the creative economy, which would increase job growth, support the region’s cultural life, and share the Northwest’s unique perspective with the world.
“I applaud Executive Constantine taking the lead on this issue and hope the state will follow his model,” said Mayor Larson. “We are woefully behind competing with other states and Canada in seeking film industry opportunities. These activities go far to support our local economies and businesses.”
Most recently, Snoqualmie locations were featured in the comedy series “Three Busy Debras” produced by Amy Poehler.
