UPDATE | SEPT. 5, 2025: The weekend lane closures and roadway work on westbound I-90 in Issaquah - originally scheduled for Sept. 5-7 -have been postponed by WSDOT due to forecast weather. The information below has been updated to reflect this change.
Snoqualmie residents should expect traffic delays if traveling on I-90 through Issaquah during weekends in September. For the first in the series of weekend work, WSDOT will reduce westbound I-90 to one lane around-the-clock, Sept. 12-14 to repair three bridges in Issaquah.
WSDOT warns drivers traveling through the area to expect significant delays during busy travel times and to consider alternative routes. Please be advised, the work requires dry weather and is subject to rescheduling.
More weekend work and lane reductions are expected on westbound I-90 later in September with dates to be released when finalized by WSDOT.
** Additional daytime single-lane reductions on eastbound and westbound I-90 should be expected Saturday, Sept. 6, east of Issaquah. **
Bridge Repair Details
During the Sept. 12-14 lane reductions, crews will replace aging pavement and waterproof membranes and repair bridge expansion joints on the left half of two bridges in the Issaquah area. The right half of the bridges will receive repairs during the next weekend lane reduction.
Crews are scheduled to reduce westbound I-90 to a single lane for two more weekends to make similar repairs on two other bridges in Issaquah. The work will extend the useful life of the bridges, which were originally built in 1970 and 1971. The bridge work is part of a project already making pavement repairs along westbound I-90 in Issaquah.
