[ARCHIVED] Snoqualmie Parkway Rehabilitation Project Begins Week of June 19

Snoqualmie Parkway Rehab Prooject Update Graphic

The City’s important capital improvement project that will rehabilitate the pavement and intersection ADA ramps and curbs of the 3.5-mile-long Snoqualmie Parkway is set to begin the week of June 19, 2023. The approximate $3.75 million project is being funded by a one-time state grant.

During the first six weeks of the project, contractor crews working for the City of Snoqualmie will address curbs and ADA ramps at multiple Snoqualmie Parkway intersection pedestrian crossings between Better Way Loop SE and SE 99th Street. Minimal traffic impacts are expected with this work.

With curb and ramp work complete, in August crews will begin the higher-impact pavement grinding and repaving of Snoqualmie Parkway, which will require lane closures. The roadway, though, will remain open during construction.

Other work included in the approximate 3-month project includes installation of new traffic signal loops, fog sealing, and lane marking installation.

Project construction will occur Monday-Thursday, with no work planned on Fridays.

Snoqualmie Parkway Rehabilitation Project work schedule. (Please note: this schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.)

  • June 20 - July 27: Demo and replacement of ADA ramps at multiple Snoqualmie Parkway intersections between Better Way Loop SE and SE 99th Street. This work is anticipated to cause minimal traffic impacts.
  • July 31 - August 10: Grinding and paving of the northeast lanes of Snoqualmie Parkway (lanes heading toward SR 202 from I-90), and installation of new traffic signal loops. A traffic plan will be in place. Lane closures will be required, with the roadway remaining accessible and open to traffic.
  • August 14 - August 24: Grinding and paving of the southwest lanes of Snoqualmie Parkway (lanes heading toward I-90 from SR 202), and installation of new traffic signal loops. A traffic plan will be in place. Lane reductions will be required, with the roadway remaining accessible and open to traffic.
  • August 28 - September 28: Permanent pavement markings installed.

The City appreciates residents’ patience and understanding while this important roadway improvement project is completed.
