[ARCHIVED] First Major Fall Storm Predicted to Bring Wind, Heavy Rain and Moderate Snoqualmie River Flooding

NEWS RELEASE V2 INFOGRAPHIC

The first major storm of the season is predicted to bring with it breezy conditions, heavy rain and push the Snoqualmie River to phase 3 flood levels - with a flood watch and flood warning in effect through Saturday, November 5, 2022.

The Snoqualmie River near the Falls is currently predicted to reach 32,000 cfs early Saturday morning, Nov. 5.  Phase 3 river levels are not uncommon during Snoqualmie’s fall rainy season. Typically, river levels of 30.000 cfs can result in the closure of low-lying city roads like Reing Road/396th, Mill Pond Road and Pickering CT.

The City is monitoring weather and road conditions and will announce any required road closures via the City website, Twitter, Facebook, and NextDoor.  In the event of road closures, please do not bypass closure barricades. Many flood rescues and flood-related deaths are the result of drivers bypassing road closure signage.

Residents can monitor real-time river conditions on the King County Snoqualmie River Flood Information page.

You can also sign up for King County Flood Alerts and City of Snoqualmie Notify Me Emergency Alerts to receive text notification of flood levels and potential road closures.

Colder temperatures are expected following the passage of this weather system, with snow levels potentially lowering to 500’ early next week.
