More electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are coming to Snoqualmie. Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is partnering with local communities, including the City of Snoqualmie, to ensure all residents have access to convenient EV charging.
As part of the new Up & Go Electric Public Pole Charging program, PSE will install multiple, easy-to-use, pole-mounted EV chargers in the City. As part of this initiative, the City and PSE are seeking public input to help identify where these new pole charging stations should be located.
How to Suggest a Pole Charging Location in Snoqualmie
Drop a pin in the interactive Suggest a Pole Mounted EV Charging Station map now, or in January, provide input on an in-person map located in the lobby of the Snoqualmie Community Center/YMCA. It’s that simple. Over the next few months, PSE will use the maps, along with location feedback from City officials, and other community input, to site the future Snoqualmie pole charging locations.
What is Pole Charging?
Pole-mounted chargers are attached to curbside streetlights and utility poles, increasing the number of locations where they can be installed. Retractable cords – lowered upon payment – keep chargers out of the way of pedestrians but are still easily accessible for electric vehicle drivers. The Level 2 chargers can add 10 to 25 miles of range to an EV battery per hour of charging.
Collaborative Program Goals
To support the City's goal of providing opportunities for EV charging and alternative refueling stations to encourage and promote the use of electric vehicles, Snoqualmie has partnered with PSE on their Pole Charging Program. The program goals include increasing access to charging for drivers living in apartments or condos; increasing charging options while shopping or running errands at local businesses; availability 24/7 for all EV drivers; and convenient locations near businesses, parks, and libraries.
