On Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at approximately 9:45 pm, the Snoqualmie Police Department responded to an armed robbery in progress at the Chevron gas station located in the 8000 block of Douglas Ave in Snoqualmie.
Gas station surveillance video showed the suspect enter the gas station armed with what appeared to be a black, semi-auto handgun and fire a single shot into the ceiling as he approached the clerk at the register. After taking cash from the register, the suspect fled the station, getting into a black Toyota Camry with a rear, red dealer license plate which was park near the front door. No one was injured during the robbery.
Shortly after midnight, the same vehicle used in the Snoqualmie robbery was involved in a rollover accident on I-405 in Tukwila in which the driver exited the vehicle and committed an armed carjacking of a red Lexus that had stopped to assist. The red Lexus was later used in another armed robbery in Seattle.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic or black male, 5”7” with a slim build. He was wearing white/black shoes with red shoelaces, long denim jean shorts, a black sweatshirt with white lettering on the chest, and a red ski-mask.
The Toyota Camry was brought to the Snoqualmie Police Department for processing by King County AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) for fingerprints and other evidence.
The Snoqualmie Police Department will be working with several other law enforcement agencies in the Puget Sound region which have experienced similar robberies during the past week.
