Social Media Policy
The City of Snoqualmie Facebook page is hosted by the City of Snoqualmie to enhance and encourage communication between the public and city government. The page is primarily for outgoing communication from the city to inform and involve the public.
General Terms and Conditions
Individuals accessing or using the city's Facebook page accept the terms and conditions stated on this page without limitation or qualification. These terms and conditions apply only to the Facebook page managed by the City of Snoqualmie. The City of Snoqualmie maintains the right to modify these terms and conditions without notice, and any modification is effective immediately upon posting to the page unless otherwise stated. Continued access or use of the page following the City's posting of any modification signifies acceptance of such modification.
In addition, all users of the City of Snoqualmie Facebook page are subject to the Facebook statement of rights and responsibilities. The City of Snoqualmie has no control over Facebook's privacy policy or the company's modifications to it. The City of Snoqualmie also has no control over content, commercial advertisements, or other postings produced or distributed by Facebook that appear on the City of Snoqualmie Facebook page
The City of Snoqualmie assumes no liability for any inaccuracies this site may contain and does not guarantee this site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Information and comments posted on the City of Snoqualmie Facebook page in no way constitute a legal or official notice or comment to the City of Snoqualmie.
Commenting Policy
The City of Snoqualmie Facebook page is a limited public forum. The city encourage people to use the comments function to ask questions and share thoughts as they relate to the topic being discussed. It is not intended as a forum for debate on political issues before City Council, which should be addressed during the public comment period at City Council meetings. or comment letters. Comments should generally to be relevant and courteous. To that end, the City of Snoqualmie has established the criteria below regarding comments and reserves the right and discretion to remove comments that are not consistent with these criteria.
The City of Snoqualmie reserves the right to remove comments that:
- Contain obscene, harassing, or profane language
- Contain threats, personal attacks, or defamatory statements
- Contain hate speech or discriminatory language on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or religion
- Compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems
- Support or oppose political candidates
- Support or oppose ballot propositions
- Support or oppose a proposed action by City Council
- Constitute advertising or promotes or endorses specific commercial services or products
- Violate the Facebook statement of rights and responsibilities
Review of and Response to Comments
While the internet is a medium unbound by regular business hours, comments will generally be reviewed only during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Questions posted in comment sections may or may not be reviewed or replied to quickly. Inappropriate comments made by non-city authors may or may not be removed quickly. Questions that are deemed irrelevant to the topic, but not necessarily inappropriate per this social media policy, may not be responded to.

Information posted by the City of Snoqualmie and comments posted to the page by other authors are subject to the disclosure requirements of the Public Records Act, Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 42.56.
