Role of the Community Development Department

The Community Development Department implements smart growth principles through sustainable city planning, proactive local and regional administration, and balanced economic development.

The department, comprised of the Planning and Building Divisions, oversees long-range planning and land use management in accordance with the Washington State Growth Management Act and by utilizing the guidance of Snoqualmie's Comprehensive Plan and zoning map. 

Additionally, the Community Development Department reviews and processes permits, provides building inspections, code enforcement, and oversees planning and review of development projects within the City.

Leadership

Interim Community Development Director Jason Rogers started with the City in 2017, and has nearly 20 years of private and public sector planning experience. He holds a bachelor's of science degree in City and Regional Planning from Cal Poly. He also has a master's degree in Public Administration from Seattle University.
