On March 6, 2024, the King County Superior Court issued a Murder 2nd Degree warrant for the arrest of Brendan T. Bodey with nationwide extradition. He was arrested on the warrant in Tacoma, WA on March 19, 2024, by Snoqualmie Police detectives.
This arrest warrant stemmed from a March 2019 case where Snoqualmie Police Department officers responded to a North Bend urgent care facility for an unresponsive 6-month-old boy. When officers arrived, medical staff were performing CPR on the child. Medic One transported the baby to Seattle Children’s Hospital for a higher level of care. Tragically, the baby succumbed to his injuries several days later.
A comprehensive review of the case began in August 2022, which brought to light additional avenues of inquiry to pursue. With the assistance of the Coalition of Small Police Agencies (CSPA) Major Crimes investigators, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Seattle Children’s Hospital staff, the Snoqualmie Police Department’s extensive investigation developed probable cause to arrest Bodey, who remains in custody on $100,000 bail.
The Snoqualmie Police Department hopes this arrest will bring some closure to the family, the community, and help begin the healing process.
