On October 29, 2024, at 8:50 am, the Snoqualmie Police Department was made aware of a potential threat at Mount Si High School to occur on October 31, 2024. A student reported seeing a written message on the bathroom wall that indicated a possible school shooting was going to occur on Halloween.
An investigation was immediately launched into the validity of the threat. During the investigation, a student was identified as the possible author of the message. It was later determined that the message was written as a joke, and that it was intended to provoke fear in sending students to school on Thursday.
We want to assure our community that the safety of our students, faculty, and professional staff is of paramount importance to our department. We take all threats to our schools seriously and will be working closely with the King County Prosecutor to develop criminal charges in this matter. Threats of any kind in our schools are unacceptable. Anyone thinking of making false threats in the future should expect to be held accountable for their actions.
