The Snoqualmie Police Department has successfully concluded an investigation initiated in December 2024 regarding allegations that a North Bend Taco Time employee was distributing nicotine and alcohol to minors in the community.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the department's School Resource Officer (SRO) and the courage of a student who trusted the SRO and came forward with vital information, multiple charges have been forwarded to the King County Prosecutor. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of community engagement to combat the illegal trafficking of substances to young people.
“This investigation highlights the critical role that trust and communication play in addressing these serious issues,” said SRO Austin Gutwein. “We commend the staff member and student who stepped forward, and encourage others to always report suspected illegal activity.”
The charges filed as a result of this investigation are intended to deter similar, future illicit activities. The Snoqualmie Police Department is committed to maintaining a safe environment for Snoqualmie Valley youth and will continue to partner closely with students, parents, and the community to address these concerns.
The Snoqualmie Police Department hopes this outcome sends a clear message that the illegal distribution of harmful substances to minors will not be tolerated. The department is dedicated to safeguarding area youth and wants the residents of North Bend and Snoqualmie to have confidence in its commitment to the pursuit of justice against those who seek to exploit children.
