For major projects like the Snoqualmie Mill proposed development, the hotel on Snoqualmie Parkway, the previous Snoqualmie Hills West proposed annexation, etc., the city provides very minimal notification to residents. Usually the notice is the bare minimum required by Snoqualmie's Municipal Code (posting in front of City Hall, in the library I think, and in the Seattle Times Public Notices section), plus mailing to addresses within 500 feet of the project. Occasionally something is mentioned in a city email or on Facebook. Very few people see any of these.
In the case of the hotel, the city acknowledged that they failed to send the mailed notices to most residents within 500 feet, but continued with the project regardless.
We need a vastly more effective way for local residents to know about projects of this scale. I suggest a direct postal mailing to every address in the city.

At a bare minimum, every legal public notice should show up on the home page of the city website as a major tab. A more effective solution would be to send every one of these notices to every address...
