[ARCHIVED] More Lane Closures on Westbound I-90 East of Issaquah Happen June 11-25

Lane Closure Alert Between High Point Way and Issaquah June 11-25 Graphic

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) contractor crews will be completing bridge deck pavement repairs in the coming weeks, reducing lanes of westbound I-90 between High Point Way and Issaquah from June 11 - June 25.

The following lane closures will be in place 24/7 east of Issaquah:

  • From 9 pm Sunday, June 11 until 6 am Sunday, June 18 westbound I-90 will be reduced to two lanes.
  • From 9 pm Sunday, June 18 until 6 am Sunday, June 25 westbound I-90 will be reduced to one lane.

Traffic delays are expected. Snoqualmie drivers who rely on westbound I-90 should consider alternative routes; alternative travel times; plan ahead and allow more time; consider working remotely if possible; consider delivery options instead of traveling for household needs.

WSDOT advises drivers heading south of Renton to consider using SR 18, although the ongoing I-90/SR 18 Improvements Project may also cause delays on this alternative route.

During the lane reductions, crews will shift traffic and repave a bridge over East Fork Issaquah Creek about a mile west of the SE High Point Way interchange. This work takes more time than earlier lane reductions because the type of concrete being used requires a longer cure time.

After these final I-90 lane reductions conclude, crews will have overnight lane reductions to repair other sections of westbound I-90. All of this work is part of a project that replaced a 1,550-foot section of I-90 pavement in 2022 and is now repairing several bridge decks. Work will finish this summer.
